Some of
New York's finest!
The Glenn Beck Program
Regardless of your political
affiliation, anyone who has had the pleasure of working for Glenn Beck will
agree that he is among a rare breed of gentlemen. He is
truly one of the nicest people I've ever met. His staff is more
like his family. Glenn is extremely passionate about his work.
Composing his music has given me an deeper look in to his life,
which has given me an even greater respect for him.
In 2005, I submitted my first production to Glenn - a
daily countdown teaser for More-On Trivia; a "game show" hosted
by Glenn on
Fridays during football season in which he calls convenience store
clerks in the cities where each team is based. Glenn and executive
producer, Steve "Stu" Burguiere liked the work and hired
me as their full time composer for radio, television and his national, live stage shows.
I recently composed
"Russell's Theme" for Glenn's successful tour, The Christmas
Sweater, based on his New York Times best selling novel of the
same name.
The majority of my work for
radio and TV consists of song parodies, for which I collaborate with Stu.
Below are samples with a quick synopses.
In 2008, an extreme leftist, ecologically fanatical organization put out
an alphabetical list citing the destruction and potential demise caused
by global warming. We created a children's song outlining each
item just as they appear in the original article. Lookout, "R" is
for the upcoming "rape wave".
Doctors For You Vocals by Anthony Newett, Lyrics by Stu Burguiere
This song is based on one of the "free credit report dot com"
commercials. A tongue-in-cheek warning of the hazards that could
be associated with a lower-standard health care system.
This one is one of my favorites. On June 11, 2007, Senator Larry
Craig was arrested in a bathroom at Minneapolis-St. Paul International
Airport for soliciting companionship by tapping his foot under the
neighboring stall. His defense was that he has a "wide stance".
Based on Carrie Underwood's, Before He Cheats, Stu eloquently
tells the story with his own version of the lyrics.
Often, I have to re-write well-known songs to circumvent some of the
legal difficulties associated with publishing rights. This poses
an interesting challenge, for the resulting song must sound enough like
the original so that listeners can unmistakably identify it. This
must be done without the slightest chance of copyright infringement.
